Downgrading . Acer Aspire 4935. 4935G Notebook to Windows XP requires supported drivers, which are not available at Acer support website ie acerpanam.com. I have found these drivers after searching for hours. Now they are all on single ...
Problems with starting up my laptop after sleep mode. Please help! Acer Aspire 4935?
Q. I usually use my laptop a bit in the mornings to check a few things before going to school and then put it in sleep mode so I can continue after school. I think I probably have been doing this for a few months? (less then 3) I returned home and just pressed a key on my keyboard to wake it up but I come across a screen where it says "Locking your computer" and when I move the mouse this thing like this ||| ||| ||| comes out in place of my cursor. I can't press anything and there's nothing on screen as well. The only thing I can do is kill the power and restart it. Any ideas on how to fix it? Am I NEVER able to go into sleep mode again?? :( Thanks! TO VASH: Yes I do have Hibernate. I guess I should use that more now. Thanks! But does… [cont.]

A. when you put your laptop into sleep mode it does 2 things one it shuts off the monitor to save then it is suppose to shut down your hard disks to save , but it does not shut your computer down completely this is your problem. your fans are still on your motherboard is still on.. these items need to sleep as well to save you hardware. it is not always good to leave your computer on for a long series of time . this cause's wear and tear on the system and its Components. you really do need to shut your computer down when not in use for long periods of time. the sleep mode is basically for if your working on something and your need to take a 30 minute break and then go back to it.. this is all sleep mode is for. hibernation is basically the… [cont.]
